As a first-generation member of a family born in peacetime Vietnam, I am confronted with significant cultural differences shaped by the Internet, and individualism, which have resulted in deep generation gaps.

This topic was not a mere choice, but a necessary journey for me as a filmmaker to liberate myself from the weight of the past and its toxic effects. It is an exploration of a filmmaker's identity as a woman in relation to familial and cultural definitions and a reflection of the struggles to reconcile Western influences with the Confucian teachings I carry. Through delving into the question of inheriting an unwanted family legacy: "Can one fix their life through fixing their family?"

Embarking on this personal journey, the documentary offers poignant insights into the complexities of family dynamics and the potential for healing and growth through open and honest communication. It serves as a compelling exploration of the interplay between individuality and tradition, and the transformative power of confronting and reconciling with the past.
